The Hand of Glory - Nintendo Switch Review

The Hand of Glory
I was really looking forward to this game. From the preview, it looked like a classic point-and-click adventure, so I started playing. The game is divided into two parts, and the creators promise around 15 hours of gameplay. It looked like a classic detective story, but it unnecessarily plays on emotions with its obscure plot and, despite the humor, unnecessary ending. I'm talking about the first part of the game; I'm getting ready for the second part. The weakest parts of the game are the cut scenes. I understand that they are supposed to illustrate the story. However, two-thirds of the game consists of cut scenes and only a little bit of actual gameplay. The game often plays for me, and it's actually more of an interactive story where I watch more than I play. It's a shame. The game mainly takes up playing time through endless cut scenes. I'll try the second part, hopefully it will be better.

Part 2 of The Hand of Glory is a solid continuation that improves pacing and delivers a more satisfying progression of the mystery, especially compared to the first half, and it does a good job tying together the supernatural elements into a more coherent payoff. However, it’s held back by uneven dialogue—there are moments where conversations feel overly drawn out or repetitive, slowing down the momentum of what is otherwise an engaging adventure. Despite that, the atmosphere, puzzle design, and general sense of old-school point-and-click charm carry it through, leaving a positive overall impression even if it doesn’t fully reach its potential.
